Carlos Osoro, Archbishop of Madrid. My friendship with Poveda, 1994.

"Speaking of God has never been easy, even though it is always necessary. And speaking about man, that is, in reference to a God who moves foundations is riskier because we can turn our back as the young man of the Gospel did.

Saying nothing about God has always been possible. Pedro, God’s friend, never remains silent. He speaks firmly and builds confidence. In those first moments of my priesthood I needed someone to speak clearly to me. And Pedro Poveda did it. He sensed my needs in those first moments (...) I was impressed by his faith, his clarity, his serenity and his ability to help. Today I have to thank him for those first words:

"You have no other way. Do not waste time on nonsense and nonsense are all those things that are not based on God, are not directed to God and are not done for God." (Pedro Poveda, 1925)
